Issues of the Usinsk deposit development and the construction of a Plant in Khakassia will be discussed on the online discussion platform

In December this year the Association of manganese producers will launch the internet platform for public hearings of the Project of the Usinsk deposit (Kemerovo region) development and the construction of a plant for the production of metal manganese in Khakassia, by CHEK-SU. The organizers are planning to launch the platform on the 4th of December. The launch and the following operation of the Platform will be supported by the government of Kemerovo region and the Republic of Khakassia, and also with a full assistance of CHEK-SU, which is giving all the necessary information regarding the Project to the Platform organizers.

Experts of Sinosteel company completed another event in the Republic of Khakassia Shira district. Experts from China arrived in the region in mid-June in order to more accurately determine the location of the construction plant for the production of manganese metal by “CHECK-SU.VK.”
To conduct this study, the company Sinosteel further attracted experts from leading Chinese institutions of Guangxi and Hunan provinces – regions that are major producers of manganese metal in the world. RUSSIA IMPORTS 50 THOUSAND TONS OF MANGANESE METAL A YEAR

According to estimates of the International Institute of manganese, the average annual import volume of manganese metal in Russia from 2011 to 2013 amounted to 50 thousand tons. Moreover, 90% of imported manganese metal goes to the needs of 5 largest metallurgical holdings (MMK, NLMK, Severstal, Evraz Group and OMC). The remaining 10% is bought by the other players in the market of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy.
Iron and steel sector remains one of the most profitable sectors of Russian industry, even in today’s difficult economic situation: despite the outflow of investment and international sanctions, experts note steady growth of production and manufacturing. Читать далее
